Jasper turned eight yesterday. We had a super busy day...but we fit in a donut breakfast, Jacks soccer game, a Turkey Trot, Lunch with all my Family and most importantly the Baptism. We are so proud of Jasper. He was so excited to get his scriptures and his scout shirt. I am so thankful for all our family that was able to come. So many helped out by giving talks, prayers or helping with music. My sister, BIL and nephew did an awesome musical number. We feel so blessed to be loved by so many!!

Happy 10th Birthday Jack
On Jacks Birthday we had Grandparents over for dinner. We made pizza's and celebrated with pumpkin/carmel flan and pumkin spice ice cream. We'd never made either and they turned out delish. The flan wasnt very pretty but tasted great.
Jack wanted legos so we took him to the store and he loaded up! He also ended up with a bunch of cash and gift cards. He bought more legos, a wii game and a watch.
I only do a friends party every couple years or so...We decided on a camping theme...
The Invites
The Cake
The Set up
The Fire
The Friends
The GPS hunt
The Marshmello Shooters
The Happy Birthday blowout
The Goodie bags
Of course I was terrified at the beginning when we had the fire going. I was sure someone would get burned, but the fire burned low by the time most of the kids arrived, perfect for roasting their hot dogs. There were a few tense moments when kids smores fired up...but it went well. We started the party at 6 and went till 10, that was too late. I should have started at 5 or even 4:30. But for all we did 4 hours was enough time, we just had a few kids fall asleep watching the movie. After our short dinner, the kids did a quick GPS hunt that gave them all the pieces to the marshmello guns. When they had them all together they had a war and shot marshmellos e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. Then we did presents and ate the awesome Marshmello cake. I got the idea here. The kids then settled in and watched ET. We set it up with a projector and an old slide show screen. Jack had an awesome time and I was happy with how it all went down!

happy birthday gavin!
my brain is on overload.
I need a break,
I think its coming.
I have a zillion things to do today,
but I need a release......
We had an awesome weekend. Camping in the cold & rain. But the company more than made up for the yucky weather (which really wasn't that bad). Burrs and Nichols..... anytime, anyplace! I have not one pic to share. But there were bike rides, moto rides, book reading & fire making. There was a few owies, some great/annoying neighbor's, good food and thankfully no bugs. Maybe if you check here in the next couple days you'll find a few pictures. Hopefully none of me, but maybe a few of the kids! Oh and Jack is so proud he is finally riding the moto with no training wheels. HUGE here people its a huge accomplishment, and he is so proud.
Monday evening we had a Memorial Day/ Birthday swim party with the Broderick's {my mom's family} Tons of great food and a fun time swimming. We celebrated Gavins 3rd Birthday. He is getting so grown up. He loaded up on the presents and had a ton of fun.
LOVING his smile in this picture. He cut the inside of his mouth pretty bad when we were camping. If it had been anywhere else besides the inside of his mouth he would have needed a few stitches but stitches don't go there.....so he has a huge swollen lip and a pretty gross sore on the inside. Anyway, he hasn't been able to smile since. I think all the cake and the amount of toys he got for presents seemed to have broken through the sad grimace! Love this little guy, he is special, adorable and I love to give him hugs and kisses! Happy Birthday Bud!
I made a delish cake for Gavins B-day, it was still a little frozen as I had to make it last week, today I ate the leftovers and they were SOOOO good. Here is the recipe. I made a few additions. I made two 10in cakes and put thickened raspberries between them. I also used a whipping cream type frosting flavored with raspberry extract. Oh man it is good!

Today my baby turned 1.

It was a looooong day with Soccer and a pizza party and no naps and lots of cousins and good food and playing, oh and tons of awesome new toys (thanks everyone). more pics to come later, maybe after I finish all the dishes tomorrow and between doing 10 loads of laundry.... (sigh)
For you.....Garth
(I am no poet, so I'm borrowing this from my poet friend Lisa O.)
where o where has my little babe gone?
i've looked in the cradle,
i've searched all day long.
he's disappeared i tell you,
nowhere in sight.
my infant has vanished,
can you sense my plight?
that baby who cuddled,
and kicked, and cooed.
is replaced by a toddler,
another small person in my brood.
you see, i'm poetic--
he's not gone, per se.
he just had a birthday
and he's "one" today.
as if this sweet little cherub
could sense a coming change--
as if he knew he was older
his abilities he did rearrange.
no more sitting idly by,
why, first steps were taken.
he learned "thumbs up" and
said "ball" and, well, i was mistaken
that my baby would stay
and always remain.
that just once one wouldn't change--
just continue the same.
change is constant.
we learn that at birth.
God wants us to change,
to refine while on earth.
so, i'll let him keep changing.
i guess it's okay.
for the other ones did--
and they're better each day.
disappeared, that small baby,
the one not yet "one",
but how pleased i can feel
that the magic lives on.
magic, like change,
is constant you see.
it's the marvelous presence
of possibility.
so change and grow
my magician, my doll.
i've got photos and memories
to keep you small.

Sickie and a birthday!!

Later in the evening I had to get my temple recommend interview so I dropped all the kids at Jackies (thanks a ton-I owe you) I could barely talk, but somehow I got through it (yes somehow I passed). Then I picked up Hugh and then the kids and we headed to Chucky Cheese (Ya know, "Where a kid can be a Kid") Wade brought the Costco Birthday Cake (That was much to big, and is now in the freezer). The kids had a great time....

Happy B-Day Babe!
Still Smiling at 34!!
Jack with a silly face.
Jasper our Dare Devil- he wake boarded & started jumping off the side of the boat!
Gavin ate a muffin, strawberries, chips, crackers & bagel, drank Gatorade and water, fell asleep for at least and hour and still had time to play in the water!
Garth slept a lot but loved splashing around in the water as well. Does that PFD look comfy or what?
Wade's one birthday request was to go to the lake. He got his wish. I even drove the boat most of the time so he could have a break. Boy is driving a pain in the butt. The water was a little choppy from the wind, but there really wasn't too many boats on the water. Oh... maybe that's cause we left home at 4am and were on the water at 6am!!

Wade can you believe we have 4 kiddos?? From the look on your face....I guess not!Happy Birthday Babe-Hope it was a good one-Love you lots!!
