He is a delight. He loves to give me kisses. He almost always obeys. He is so sweet.
He likes to look through a book we have called the BIG BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE. Mostly he likes the pages about dolphins. But just now he found the page with THE DAVID, he pointed out his "peepee" and then went on to look at pirate ships and trains.
I love this little boy, and I hope I can remember that in the next few weeks, when I'll have a new little baby.

I love to stick stuff up my nose........
Well Garth finally stuck something up his nose far enough that I couldn't get it out. It had been there a day and we decided no amount of sneezing was going to make it come loose, so this morning off to the pediatrician we went. Well guess what, the pediatrician couldn't get it out either. She suggested an ENT (ear, nose & throat) specialist, but since its the weekend we had to go to the ER! Luckily we have the best children's hospital around and we were in and out in less than an hour. I wonder how much a bead up the nose is going to cost us though....
The Dr. used this super cool tool to get it out, I really wanted to ask her if I could keep it {since I'm sure they will throw it away, and I did pay for it} but I doubt they would have. Anyway it was a long stick about the diameter of a toothpick with a syringe at the end. She put the stick up his nose, past the bead & then pushed on the syringe to put air into a tiny little balloon at the end of the stick and then pulled the bead right out of his nose. Super cool!
The point of this story. If your kid does the same thing, call your Ped FIRST to see if they have such a handy tool, if they don't go straight to the ER or if you can an ENT specialist. Save yourself some time and money!!
P.S. Reminder to self----I do not want to ever move again -especially while I am pregnant!!!!!

Mr. Garth
Oh I am so sad my baby is growing up. He is such a cutie, today he took his first steps and he was so excited he fell down. He has been tentative to even stand, occasionally he will walk along the furniture to reach something he wants. He will of course walk if you hold on to him with both hands, but I can tell he is ready he wants to walk now, its only a matter of time.......
Garth has discovered food the past few weeks. Up until about a month ago he was mostly just nursing- we {I} decided to give that the boot, Garth was not happy about THAT! But now he eats like crazy. Last night for dinner he ate a whole pita, half a sweet potato and as much chicken salad as I could throw his way. And he will not drink out of a sippy cup {must be my punishment} I have to hold a cup for him, and don't worry he lets you know when he's thirsty!!
Garth is also our only toddler who would eat/drink applesauce or milk. None of our other kids would touch the stuff. Even Gavin is just now starting to drink milk {he's almost 3}.
Garth is definitely a Mommas boy. He wants to be with her always, even just hanging on to her leg is fine. Luckily if you aren't Mom if you just hold him {ALL the time} he wont cry!!
Garthie we love your sweet smile!

Today my baby turned 1.
well it was yesterday, but after cleaning up a little, cause their was a lot to clean up I crashed and its been a busy day so we are just now getting to blog...
But here is our Birthday boy...

It was a looooong day with Soccer and a pizza party and no naps and lots of cousins and good food and playing, oh and tons of awesome new toys (thanks everyone). more pics to come later, maybe after I finish all the dishes tomorrow and between doing 10 loads of laundry.... (sigh)
For you.....Garth
Magical Disapearing Act.
(I am no poet, so I'm borrowing this from my poet friend Lisa O.)
where o where has my little babe gone?
i've looked in the cradle,
i've searched all day long.
he's disappeared i tell you,
nowhere in sight.
my infant has vanished,
can you sense my plight?
that baby who cuddled,
and kicked, and cooed.
is replaced by a toddler,
another small person in my brood.
you see, i'm poetic--
he's not gone, per se.
he just had a birthday
and he's "one" today.
as if this sweet little cherub
could sense a coming change--
as if he knew he was older
his abilities he did rearrange.
no more sitting idly by,
why, first steps were taken.
he learned "thumbs up" and
said "ball" and, well, i was mistaken
that my baby would stay
and always remain.
that just once one wouldn't change--
just continue the same.
change is constant.
we learn that at birth.
God wants us to change,
to refine while on earth.
so, i'll let him keep changing.
i guess it's okay.
for the other ones did--
and they're better each day.
disappeared, that small baby,
the one not yet "one",
but how pleased i can feel
that the magic lives on.
magic, like change,
is constant you see.
it's the marvelous presence
of possibility.
so change and grow
my magician, my doll.
i've got photos and memories
to keep you small.

Oh sh*@%#%$*!!!!
So I just backed into the garage door:((((( Luckily I am quick on the brakes, and it didn't do too much damage. We even fit the rollers back in the track and it still goes up and down. And when its closed you can hardly tell. AND the damage to the Mazda is really not too noticeable.
But of course Wade had a freaking cow. And it was all my fault. Even though I was loading kids in the same time as he was, and I was heading to Walmart while he was heading to soccer practice. Somehow he still didn't get the message that I was leaving and he closed the door on me while I was backing up.
Actually now that the door has mostly survived and hopefully we wont really have to fix anything. Its kind of funny. I am sure Wade is over at soccer practice stewing up a storm though!! HeHe!!

Theme for the last week.....
PUKE.... here, there and everywhere! half the family's had it....will it get to the rest???
Here are some puke and not so, puke stories....
Gavin: (5:30am) "Mom Moooom Mom Mom Mom" from outside my bedroom door.
Me: in bed, sleeping trying to ignore the pitiful "mom" sound
Gavin: pushing door open a little "Mom mom mom"
Me: "Gavin"
Gavin: "yes"
Me: "Can you go downstairs and get Dad"
Gavin: "OK"
a few minutes later or maybe not ya know cause I was trying to sleep....
Wade yelling in the other room about puke all over Gavin and the bed and the floor....
Yep that's me the horrible mother, who sent her sick kid downstairs to get Dad!!
This ones even better....
Me: downstairs, probably surfing the net
Kids: upstairs doing who knows what
Jasper: yelling "Mom Garth puked on me"
Me: running upstairs
Jasper: now in the bathroom trying to get off his puked on clothes without it touching his face.
Me: picking up Garth "Jasper, there is no puke coming out of Garth's mouth.
Me: looking at Garth's backside "Jasper that is not puke, that's POOP"!!!
Me: Laughing just a little
Jasper: "GROSS, that is so disgusting"
see there is something worse then Puke!!

Seeeeeeeeew Update.
Better late than never Right!! Here is our Halloween Pic. For those of you not from AZ....Wade and I are ASU fans and Gavin is our Mascot "Sparky" also known as "the devils". Still waiting for Jack to get his whole Indiana Jones costume on again so I can take an official pic....
Lots of cleaning to avoid, so I've been making balls. Aren't they cute!! Garth loves them, as do the other boys-as you can throw them pretty hard and they don't hurt.....too bad, at least!!
I am trying to decide if this will do for Jasper's Birthday Pic. I really dread the trek out to Target, and I am too cheap to go anywhere else. Gotta love this kid, he's such a cutie!!
Garth got these two little chompers on the 13th of October (you know gotta save the date...for posterity!!) They are freakishly sharp, and he is always trying to bite my arm, little stinker. Garth is also getting practise up and down the short set of stairs. He goes up pretty slow, and has taken the fast way down just once!!Got a new hair cut, love it! I am in a sewing mood, so hang on to your boots, more pics to come!!

Garth @ 6 months
This kid is just so dang cute. He is at the perfect age. He is smiley and happy all day long....as long as you feed, change & let him sleep a little. He LOVES to be entertained by his brothers. He loves to float in the pool and be dunked and splashed....he loves to sit in the high chair and watch everyone else eat, he loves to give hugs and to be held.
I almost wish he would stay this way forever.
He is just so cuddly, and squishy and love able.
Every funny face or smile just melts your heart. And almost, almost makes you want another.....

I can ROLL
Its official, Garth can roll -only back to front of course! He actually did it a month ago, but I think he was as suprised as us and didn't do it again till this week. He doesn't like holding his head up though so he only lasts a few minutes before he lets me know he wants to go back to his back. Seems a little early-not even four months yet!

Question?
Why in the world do we create this adorable little space called a Nursery for our babies? We spend tons of money & time - And to do what, change diapers & sleep. Oh, well here's mine!!

Are these letters totally cool or what?? The creativity all goes to my awesome sister-in-law Karli. Thanks so much!!
