Saturday we ran in the 5
th annual Pats Run. Wade has ran it twice before, but it was my first time. It was great. I
haven't run in a race since HS. And this one brought back all the memories. I had a great HS running coach. Early in the race I asked Wade what his goal was {cause coach said you HAD to have a goal} Of course the guy running next to me answered and said he wanted to win the power ball. I of course replied "well you cant win if you
don't play!!"
I'm not sure Wade ever told me his goal. But mine was to finish under 42 minutes & NO walking. I only have about 30 minutes to train, a couple times a week so jumping from 2 1/2 miles up to 4.2 I was worried I wouldnt be able to run it all. But I felt pretty good and I was able to give it a little extra on the uphill {even though everyone else was slowing down} and kick it {as in sprint} down the down hill {cause
that's how ya win the race, I know cause Coach
Giddings said so} About the 3 mile marking I was getting pretty tired, but by then we could see the
ASU stadium and everyone sped up a little. Once we entered the stadium I was even able to put in an extra kick and sprint to the finish line. It was great and I was
definitely spent.
My sister Leslie also came with her kids. She kindly watched Jack and Jasper while we ran. We signed all the kids up for the Kids run. Wade took the kids to get
Popsicles while we were waiting for the kids run to start. When they got back we were looking around and realized the race had already started, so we just ran over and started running. But Jasper was still eating his
Popsicle, he was yelling at us about wanting to finish his
Popsicle. Suddenly he took a big bite of it and threw it on the ground and then he just sprinted off in front of us. Dodging through all the people around us, it was hilarious!
Anyway we had fun and it was a great, Pat Tillman is one of my
hero's.
Here are some pics...

We did the Pat's Run also. We had to start at the very end, because we had a double stroller, but it was fun. Payton did not want to run in the kids run, so we left after we finished, but we will probably go again next year.
So fun I would prob. walk most of it! I saw it on the news it took a few hours for everyone just to get thru the starting line said there was like 20,000 pepole there! Way to go!
You guys are so brave. (1) running, I don't think so, (2) how many people were there? I don't think so. Good for you.
